DSO Entity endorses President and approves 2021 Work Plan

The General Assembly of DSO Entity met virtually and formally endorsed Vincenzo Ranieri (E-distribuzione, Italy) as President of the association and of the Board of Directors.

The 700 DSOs joining today’s meeting (directly or represented) also approved the DSO Entity Work Plan for 2021, containing the immediate operational priorities for the association. Its aim is to ensure continuity on relevant matters such as cybersecurity, distributed flexibility, and data access.

Vincenzo Ranieri commented, “I am proud to have been given the trust of my colleagues and humbled to serve as the first President of DSO Entity, which comes into existence at a time of unprecedented transformation in the energy sector and society as a whole. The decarbonisation and decentralisation of power generation, the electrification of consumption and the digitalisation of services require bold and concrete actions from Distribution System Operators to contribute to a fully decarbonised European society by 2050.”

The General Assembly approved the process for setting up Expert Groups and gave the Board of Directors a mandate to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ENTSO-E, the first step in a series of constructive cooperations with other relevant bodies.
