Close cooperation between transmission and distribution system operators is essential to enable the energy transition. EU DSO Entity is working with ENTSO-E in several areas to contribute to a carbon-neutral energy system in Europe by 2050.
The EU DSO Entity and ENTSO-E signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 11 January 2022
In the MoU, the two Associations state their willingness to generally cooperate from equal to equal, with a result-driven, consensus-seeking, and with a full system view. This cooperation will materialise in regular meetings, the creation of joint task forces with a balanced representation of TSO and DSO experts, and an alignment of their annual work programmes on shared priorities.
The two Associations also affirm in their MoU their commitment to work on tasks mandated by Regulation (EU)2019/943 including the development of new network codes when a mutual interest is identified, the facilitation of the monitoring of existing network codes, as well as exchanges of best practices related to coordinated operation and planning of transmission and distribution systems, including issues such as exchange of data between operators and coordination of distributed energy resources.
Other topics and domains are also considered such as the cooperation in policy and communication activities (common reports and events) and the development of common positions on amendments of existing network codes when possible.
The Signatories strive for transparency and will communicate the outcome of these common activities to other organisations when relevant.
